The Boon Giver

Fulfiller of
All Wishes

This idol is known as Varadvinayak because Lord Ganesha is said to fulfill all desires (Varad means 'boon') of his devotees here. The legend involves the sage Grutsamad, who founded the temple and invoked Ganesha in this forest (Bhadraka) to wash away his sins. He is also credited with originating the mantra "Gananam Tva Ganapatim...".

A unique feature of this temple is the Nandadeep (Eternal Lamp). It has been burning incessantly since 1892 without a single pause. Devotees offer oil to keep this sacred flame alive, symbolizing the eternal presence of the divine.
