CHINTAMANI

'The Jewel of Wishes. The Solace of Peshwas.'

The Mythic Gem

Retrieving the
Chintamani

The legend narrates how Ganesha retrieved the wish-giving jewel Chintamani from the greedy prince Gana to return it to Sage Kapila. However, the sage chose to gift the jewel back to Ganesha, asking him to stay there forever. Thus, the Lord manifested here as Chintamani - the one who removes all worries (Chinta).
